How to Buy Jewelry for a Low-Maintenance Person

Posted in Giving, Lifestyle, Sponsored

Anyone who knows my guy and I knows that we are pretty low-maintenance when it comes to most things.

We typically prefer to use our energy on traveling and wrangling our two girls, as opposed to spending a great deal of time on things like getting ready for the day or shopping for ourselves. However, every now and then we like to look a bit more pulled together while running around.

Although messing with our parenting uniform of t-shirts, jeans (fine, yoga pants), and flip-flops is completely out of the question, we’ll sometimes throw on a nice accessory for an added bit of effort.

We’ve partnered with Jord Watches on this post to walk you through buying jewelry for a low-maintenance person step-by-step, using their gorgeous Conway Dark Sandalwood & Burgundy watch as a perfect example.

1. Pick the Right Type of Jewelry

Is your easy-going friend going to want to rock a silver head chain tassel hair jewelry piece with vintage natural beads and rose gold charms? Doubtful.

Stick to your “could wear everyday” pieces here: rings, simple necklaces, or watches generally would work for a woman, while watches are a pretty safe bet when shopping for a man.

2. Quality Over Quantity

The first rule of buying jewelry for someone who is low-maintenance is to pick one or two truly special pieces as opposed to a bunch of cheaper “fad” pieces. Take the time to find a piece that is crafted to perfection.

3. Classic With a Twist

You don’t want to go ultra-modern or trendy when buying jewelry for someone who is low-maintenance, but that doesn’t mean you need to be boring, either. The unique wooden watches from Jord are pretty much the textbook definition of classic with a twist: clean lines, classic cuts, with a beautifully welcomed switch from metal to wood.

4. Stick With a Neutral Base Material

Some people may be interested in figuring out how to incorporate a neon yellow watch into their daily outfit, but chances are your low-maintenance friend or partner isn’t one of them. Don’t get overly complicated when it comes to the color. When in doubt, always stick with a neutral: black, brown, grey/silver, and white all make great go-to color options.

5. Don’t Overspend or Underspend

Figuring out a price range before you start shopping will help your search be more successful. You want to find a price range that you’re comfortable with, first and most importantly, and then look for the highest quality product within that range. Remember: a low-maintanance person wouldn’t want you to overspend for them.
